PRICE Instructors are required to attend a Refresher Course annually in order to continue delivering PRICE (BILD accredited training) within their organisation. On successful completion of the Refresher training a new certificate is issued confirming their competence to deliver training for the forthcoming 12 months.
The Refresher Course is run over 4 days and revisits the modules covered in the initial Positive Approaches to Challenging Behaviour Instructor Course training, giving participants the opportunity to further explore the topics in the context their experience of teaching PRICE in their workplace.
Participants will learn about relevant changes to legislation and practice guidance and will spend time revisiting the Physical Techniques through ‘micro-teach’ sessions, which aim to address the skill fade that can occur over time.
On the final day of the course each participant is assessed by an independent assessor on the quality of their techniques as well as their competency in relation to their knowledge, communications skills and teaching ability.
